Lips tremble when awful words escape them,
Words spoken to the darkest night.
The things I say, I cannot bear to hear.
They are all empty threats, my dear.
Restless, lying deep in the dark.
I cannot hear the sounds of the world,
The one that exists beyond my mantel.
Please, break through its entrapment.
Safe, when held by my self preservation.
Wanting to be spared from the daily fight.
Yet like the tears that glisten beautifully,
I see the glory in the empty misery.
Trembling lips, blue skin and sullen eyes.
Feeling the sickly liquid fused to my bones.
The twist of the tale, the force of the truth;
I cannot bear for this to linger much longer.
