Ability: To convert and alter the strength of energy
Twin to her brother William (Will)
Their parents never wanted a girl, and they doted on Will and often ignored Billie. Her father regularly ridiculed girls in front of the twins and made a point of humiliating Billie when she was couldn't do the same things as Will. Billie began timid and withdrawn.
Tragically, William died when he was eight due to an accident playing outside. Billie got her frisbee stuck in a tree and couldn't climb to reach it (although the same age as Will she was very slight compared to him). He decided to climb up and get it for her, she encouraged him too, but unfortunately he got stuck at the top and slipped falling from the tree. He broke his arm and hit his head - they went to hospital and got him bandaged up. He seemed okay but days later he had a seizure and died of a aneurysm caused by a bleed in the brain.
Their mother blamed Billie for the accident and, in time, Billie blamed herself too. Her mother throughout the grieving process began acting strangely. She started dressing Billie in Will's old clothes and often referred to her as Will. Any behaviour that Billie displayed that was remotely feminine was actively discouraged. Eventually Billie couldn't take it anymore and had a rage-fuelled tantrum confronting her mother. Her mother suffered a mental breakdown after Billie's outburst and had to be admitted to hospital for a few weeks. Billie's father blamed Billie for this and asked her outright why she couldn't just pretend for the sake of her mother. She began hating her father from that point on.
On her mother's return home Billie changed. Her mother was out of it most of the time due to medication and began a recluse so Billie rarely associated with her. But her anger towards her father grew. She felt the injustice of being unable to be herself for so long. And she too suffered immensely from her own shame at Will's death.
She purposely started acting bizarrely and made a point of actively displaying the fact she was female in front of her father. From the age of thirteen she began dressing in revealing clothes, her father called her a slut but that did nothing to stop her. She made out with boyfriends in front of the house and even flashed her underwear at the neighbour boys. As she grew into her teenage years she started smoking and drinking and hanging around with a strange crowd of people. Eventually her father could take it no more and told her that he didn't want her living in the house anymore.
Billie was secretly devastated but took her things and left. She managed to lodge with her older cousin and that is when her problems really started.
