Still Nothing To Say

A sealed mouth, a sewn-in tongue;

The game once again of bloodshed tapestry.

I cannot believe it, the breathless clarity and the pointless profanity.

Leave me out, and leave my thoughts all alone again.

When the words are like ice to the lips

And syllables are like cement to swallow,

Regurgitate, let it slide through your body.

It’s poison! It’s degradation!

It cannot do any more to me now.

Lying on the bottom of the bank, still, face down

 And on the bottom rung –

There is nowhere left to back out of and escape.

Cold and vacant eyes burn through a bold façade

But still nothing to say.
