Shoot of Hope

When I look around, things feel so different.

Pain seems to leak away, thoughts harbour strange images.

I remember places deep in my memory. I remember words once said a life time ago.

I want to cling to these dreams, the lights in their eyes – the ones that do not show the emptying life.

The golden reflection, the surface that captured the clarity so pure; the thoughts gained from it all.

I restored all of myself with all I could; I took apart every piece and pushed it all together -

The times I fell down, the times I held on when I was crumbling.

I want to save the pieces, gain a world when the planet had died.

The festering hole that harboured my soul gave up a new shoot of hope.
