Dante for Rose (unfinished)

The eyes that glisten were like blocks of ice,
But her hair caught the brightest rays of sunshine - hidden and tangled in the radiant curls.
My heart began to pound in my chest, the pulse quickened like a thundering beat.
Like rain slamming down on the ground my body was shaken to the core.
And her eyes, her eyes I can never forget!

The birds whistled over our heads as we stood like solemn statues.
Reflecting each other in the dreary graveyard - one that seemed to be alive,
Brightened from her beauty, her fragile perseverance and tragically broken heart.
I felt her pain from the pit of my guts, it vibrated through my bones.
And, terrified, I never wanted to leave this moment.
