When you leave me the pain is fresh and raw,
The cord pulling out the internal bloody core.
It feels like you're taken, by a predator unknown,
Snatched and stolen from our safe and guarded home.
I want to fight and scream but I pacify the urge,
Sedated with indulgence and emotional purge.
Torn in half, scratched up and brimming anew,
Floundering in confusion, my heart in two.
Unable to make peace between the want and the need,
The primal beast still prowling, while the lionness bleeds.
But trapped here as before as you're constantly bending,
My inner boundaries crumbling, my mind suspending.
Seeming unshackled but forcefully crushed into a space,
Will it be time or destruction that frees me from this place?
